In the summer of 2015, Steve Horton and Joe Davis visited several existing printing, apparel and sign companies in Elizabethtown looking to find one interested in selling their business. Steve had been successful in developing several large clients in Elizabethtown which were being serviced by the Gerald Printing Bowling Green office. It was time to establish an office in Elizabethtown to better serve the market.
In September, Steve and Joe met with Jason Croghan, the owner of an apparel company called Hillbilly’s Tease located on Highway 31W on the north side of town. Jason had been in business about 10 years and had good connections at Fort Knox and also some of the local schools. His main product line was decorating apparel using a transfer press and heat press. Jason agreed to sell the assets of his business and the closing took place on December 1, 2015.
Steve Horton became the Sales Manager in Elizabethtown and the office had a good start with the business from the existing larger clients. The existing facility lease was taken over from Jason Croghan and an extensive remodel was completed. An automated and manual screen press, digital printers and a sign printer were added quickly. The new product lines allowed for strong expansion of the existing business and new customers from Hardin and surrounding counties were added to the mix. On May 3, 2016 a Ribbon Cutting welcomed this new office of Gerald Printing to the community.
