Glasgow Office History

In the summer of 2011, Philip Rutledge, the owner of The Print Shop in Glasgow, contacted Joe Davis, the owner of Gerald Printing about purchasing his business. Philip’s father, Donald Rutledge, a highly respected member of the Glasgow community had started the business in 1969 just before Larry Gerald, the Founder of Gerald Printing had started his business in Scottsville. Philip and Joe met on June 7, 2011 to discuss the potential purchase. The Print Shop was mainly a print on paper business which faced stiff competition mainly from printers in surrounding counties. Philip stated he preferred Gerald Printing to take over the business so his customers would receive quality products and service in the future.

Joe agreed to purchase the assets of the business and closing took place on September 1, 2011. The existing buildings were leased at 105 East Water Street until February 2012 when the business was moved to 404 Rogers Road. Steve Horton, who had been the Sales Representative for Gerald Printing in Glasgow became the Sales Manager and Serena Peters, who had experience in the Bowling Green office became the Production Supervisor.

The Glasgow office transitioned to digital printing and added screen printing, embroidery and signs to their production capabilities. A Ribbon Cutting was hosted by the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce on May 9, 2012 and Larry Gerald, our Founder, was able to attend the event. In August of 2014, Chris Houchens was hired to be the Sales Manager and the Production Supervisor is now Sarah Wyatt. The Glasgow office has prospered in serving the Barren County region.
