On January 22, 2015, Chris Thompson, the majority owner of Image Ink contacted Joe Davis, the owner of Gerald Printing about the potential sale of his business. Chris and his partner Kevin Kirn started their apparel decorating business in 2007 and the main product lines were screen printing and embroidery. After several follow up meetings, a Letter of Intent was signed on March 2 and closing took place on March 24.
On January 30, 2015, Joy Downing, the President of The Liberty Group contacted Joe Davis about the potential sale of the printing company. Patricia Smith was the majority owner and minority owners were Tim Earnhart and Joy Downing. The Liberty Group, commonly known as Liberty Printing had served the Bowling Green market for about 25 years with mainly print on paper products. A Letter of Intent was executed on March 3, due diligence was performed and closing took place on April 1.
During the next few weeks, the Image Ink equipment was moved into the 6500 square foot Liberty building at 3021 Nashville Road and the new name of Liberty Imaging was used to identify the consolidation of these two companies. Soon Chris Thompson was named the Sales Manager and he focused on weaving the two groups of employees into one productive team with an expanded product line. On November 19, 2015, a Ribbon Cutting was hosted by the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce celebrating the formation of the Liberty Imaging brand. Chris Thompson left to pursue other opportunities and Jennifer Oaks became the new Sales Manager of Liberty Imaging in February 2016.
On May 4, 2016, Kim Oliver, the owner of Express Printing and her husband Mark contacted Joe Davis to discuss the potential sale of Express Printing. Kim and her sister, Sheila had started Express in the late 1990’s and it was located in the mid-town area of Bowling Green for many years providing mainly print on paper products. Closing took place on July 1, 2016 and Express Printing was merged into Liberty Imaging to enhance its customer base.
Liberty Imaging continues to be a strong brand with a dedicated team providing print, apparel, signs and promotional products to Warren and Butler counties.
